Minor Program (Performing and Creative Arts)Philosophy: The minor program on Performing and Creative Arts introduces students to theatre and performance, classical music, visual and audio-visual art practices (photography, film, installation) in order to explore the creative potential that the students may have and also to engage actively with Indian traditions in these domains. It is also interested in nurturing and developing the aesthetic sensibilities of the students that may help them in sharpening their skills for appreciating art and also in finding alternative career options.
Innovative Components: Some of the courses will have tutorials and practical sessions, workshops etc. and resource persons from various art and culture industries will be invited for the latter. There will be interactive sessions between resource persons and students. By the end of the program, there will be two elective project courses and students will be allowed to choose any of the three areas (visual arts, theatre and performance, classical music) for their respective projects.
